William Brantley Aycock was the chief administrative officer of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1 July 1957 until August 1964. Records include correspondence and other files relating to the administration of and academic programs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Topics of particular importance addressed in these records include desegregation; programs in medical education; the speaker ban law, which prohibited communists from speaking at the university; and the Dixie Classic scandal, involving betting on the Dixie Classic Basketball Tournament.
